It is the Argentinians who have mastered Malbec, and deservedly so. But watch out – as Archbishop Desmond Tutu said after the Football World Cup, where we excelled in the hospitality stakes (even though not on the field!) We South Africans continue to amaze ourselves. We might have had a few Stop-Gos on the way, but now we are flying … In South Africa Malbec accounts for less than 0.05% of total vineyard plantings. It really is deliciously different. Taste the lovely red-berry flavours and sense the voluptuous elegance of this wine, and you will understand.
PS: The Malbec has just been selected by the Wine of the Month Club and by Seckford Wines in the UK (IWSC Wine Importer of the year 2012)
