This could only happen in Darling. Take one Fine Art lecturer, add one pharmaceutical sales person … mix together well and let stand for a while. Result – the most amazing range of Darling Sweets and confectionery you could possibly imagine.
When Hentie van der Merwe and Frits van Ryneveldt started out making Darling Sweet toffees some 6 years ago, not even they believed that they would be so well received both locally and also internationally!
This same pair now bring you Swartland Deli. This includes the Swartland Kitchen’s range of rusks and granola as well as other locally made products ranging from olive oil, spent grain crisps and the most divine preserved garlic products. They have also launched a NEW eatery at the iconic Evita se Perron; the perfect spot to browse the history of Tannie Evita, South Africa or read a book whilst being hugged by the homely smell of freshly baked rusks.
The menu features light meals prepared with fresh local produce and the carrot cake comes highly recommended!
